New regulations for household waste (waste collection regulations)

In the autumn of 2020, all 17 owner municipalities adopted new common regulations for ReMidt with new fee model. This applies from 01/01/2021 for the following municipalities:
Frøya, Heim, Hitra, Melhus, Midtre Gauldal, Oppdal, Orkland, Rennebu, Rindal, Skaun and Surnadal.
For the municipalities of Aure, Averøy, Kristiansund, Smøla, Sunndal and Tingvoll, it will only come into force when we roll out a new scheme. Until then, old regulations and old fee lines apply in these municipalities.

The most important things to note in the new regulations are:

  • The fee is calculated based on the size of the residual waste bin
  • Neighborhood sharing discount
  • Discount for home composting
  • Discount for delivering the waste to the collection point yourself
  • On the day of emptying, the can must be placed by the roadside, or a maximum of 5 meters from the roadside. If you do not have the opportunity to roll out the can, you can choose to pay extra for the renovator to pick up the can closer to the house.
  • As a subscriber, you have the right to deliver household waste to our recycling stations without paying anything extra.
  • All housing units receive a separate subscription, including basement apartments, student housing, etc.
