Welcome to ReMidt

Welcome to ReMidt

Now it is ReMidt IKS, which is responsible for all waste disposal services, including sludge, both for you who are a permanent resident and a cottage owner.

ReMidt IKS was formed after Nordmøre Interkommunale Renovasjonsselskap IKS, Hamos Forvaltning IKS and Envina IKS merged with effect from 1 January 2020.

For you as a resident or cottage owner in one of the affected municipalities, this means that all inquiries you have about waste disposal and sludge, should be directed to us in ReMidt IKS. A total of 17 municipalities (after municipal mergers at the beginning of 2020) are co-owners ReMidt IKS. These are:

Kristiansund, Sunndal, Oppdal, Smøla, Averøy, Aure, Tingvoll, Heim, Rennebu, Orkland, Hitra, Frøya, Rindal, Surnadal, Skaun, Melhus and Midtre Gauldal.

What is new?

It depends a bit on which municipality you belong to. In short, the differences are as follows:

  • In municipalities that previously belonged to Nordmøre Interkommunale Renovasjonsselskap IKS, opening hours at some recycling stations have been extended, especially with more opening days on Saturdays. Free delivery has also been introduced for private individuals at all recycling stations. Invoice for waste disposal and sludge fee will from now on come from ReMidt IKS, and not from the municipality.
  • In municipalities that previously belonged to Envina IKS, opening hours at some recycling stations have been extended, especially with more opening days on Saturdays. There is also free delivery for private individuals at the recycling stations. Invoice for waste disposal and sludge fee will from now on come from ReMidt IKS.
  • In municipalities that previously belonged to HAMOS Forvaltning IKS, there will be no significant changes in the service offering. However, it is important to note that invoices for waste disposal and sludge fees will come from ReMidt IKS.

Why does everything come together in one company?

The formation of the new environmental company will naturally provide access to larger amounts of waste than the three companies each have today. This makes it easier to use new technology, which in turn will be crucial in achieving national and international goals related to the use of waste as a resource and raw material in new production.

For you as a citizen, it will provide better and more customized offers. Something will be noticed from the start, while other services will be launched in the future. ReMidt IKS will get more out of the waste collection fee than the three companies can handle separately. The new company will work according to the cost principle, which means that the income will be equal to the expenses.

ReMidt IKS will secure local jobs. At the same time, a larger competence environment, in an industry that is becoming more and more knowledge-based, will make the company an even more attractive workplace.
