New employee in ReMidt

New employee in ReMidt

Christian is our newest addition to the company. He is originally from Mo i Rana, but has lived the last 10 years of his life in Orkanger.

In terms of education, he can show a diploma in the field of construction machinery, and most of the experience he has gained in working life concerns the construction industry and the stone industry. Before he started in ReMidt as project manager, he was department manager for 10 years for NCC Gjølme Pukkverk.

How have you been received as a new employee?

Very good! There are many pleasant and clever people here who want to help me. I appreciate that very much. Here, there are many different people who have welcomed me with open arms, and that warms even a heart that beats for stone and rubble.

What impression have you got of the industry after the short time you have been here?

A very good impression. There is a lot of commitment here, and that is important. Another thing that has surprised me a bit is how complex this industry is. Perhaps especially within logistics.

Why do you think the waste industry is so important?

I think that the waste industry is about taking care of the community's resources in the best possible way. One is of course the waste that we collect, the other is the environmental benefit we get by collecting this in the right way. I dare not think what Norway would have looked like without the system we have for waste management.

What are the most important reasons why you want to come to work every day?

Good colleagues. It has been incredibly fun to get to know so many new people, in such a great diversity. Otherwise, I am motivated by learning new things, and there are great opportunities for that in this industry. And then I must mention the opportunity to help develop new things. Right now I am working on getting a workshop started with all that entails. Tremendously exciting!

How do you see the future in this industry?

My impression is that this is an industry that has developed a lot in the last 30 years. But the pace that has been in development is going to increase considerably in the next few years. Of course in digitalisation, but also in terms of the quality of the resources we handle. There is no doubt that we need many more skilled people in this industry in the years to come.
