New waste disposal scheme Mausundvær, Sula and Bogøyvær

New waste disposal scheme Mausundvær, Sula and Bogøyvær

From June 1 takes ReMidt over the collection of waste at Mausundvær and Sula, and at the same time introduces full source sorting with four waste bins and a bag for plastic packaging. All households will be given new waste bins before that time. There are basically four cans for each housing unit, unless agreements are made on neighbor sharing or home composting.

Then all households with permanent residents have been given 4 new waste bins for sorting paper / cardboard, food waste, glass and metal packaging and residual waste, in addition to bags for plastic packaging.

Empty calendar

There will be a change in the emptying calendar in connection with the new scheme. There will also be new emptying days. Subscribe to free sms notification for your mobile. Then you will automatically be notified of the correct emptying day. If you have already subscribed to a notice, you do not need to do it again.
You can always find an updated emptying calendar for your address by using the search field on remidt.no If you are unsure how to do it, you can look at this help page.

Leisure subscribers

In the same way as in the rest of the municipality, a return point will be established where you will deliver the household waste from your holiday home. Here you can sort out paper / cardboard, food waste, plastic packaging, residual waste and glass and metal packaging. Other waste, such as construction waste, electrical waste or hazardous waste, must be delivered to the recycling station at Nabeita or to another approved reception. It has been sent out letter with information to anyone with a leisure subscription.

The return points will be located here:
Mausundvær - by the ferry berth
Bogøyvær - by the ferry berth
Sula - in Føllingsveien (at exit two)

You can also order your own cans for your holiday home for an increase in the fee. You will then receive cans corresponding to a reduced housing subscription, ie 80 liters of cans for the residual waste. In this case, the cans must be at the route on the day of emptying. The solution with its own cans is not available at Bogøyvær.

Driving route and road standard

The collection will now be carried out by a small refuse truck that has two rooms to collect two types of waste at the same time. The new refuse truck is somewhat larger than the tractor that has been used until now. Due to safety, we are dependent on sound turning points, and reversing is generally not allowed. This means that there are several small roads it is not allowed to drive.
The driving route is determined based on the standard of the road (width, slope conditions, etc.) and turning possibilities. An inspection was carried out in week 12 at both Sula and Mausundvær to look at roads and turning points. Based on this, a new route has now been set. Some will then get a change of pickup location.

Map of driving routes

At Bogøyvær, we will create a common set of cans for permanent residents. This will be located on the ferry berth.

Your pickup location

This is where the cans should be put out or left on the day of emptying. The map shows the driving route where the refuse truck drives. The cans must be presented on the day of emptying, a maximum of 5 meters from the route. Outside of emptying day, the cans can be left where you want them on your property.

Securing cans and canisters

The cans must be secured against weather and wind so that they do not tip over and litter the neighborhood. We therefore encourage you to find good locations in shelter, and feel free to set up living walls or sheds for the cans.
If you want to build sheds for your cans, we have made targeted sketches of the different can sizes. Here you can find the different can sizes with measurements.

Calculate space for cans for four types of waste. How much space this takes up depends on which subscription you have. A standard subscription with four 140-liter cans needs a width of just over two meters.
If you want to build your own shed, you must take into account 4 cans and a little extra space for the backpack for plastic packaging. Also remember that there should be room to open the lid on the can if you are building a roof.

Post-division

There are quickly many cans with 4 on each, and for some it can be difficult to fit this. Then it makes sense to look at the possibility of sharing equipment. One can share even if some in the collaboration compost and others do not. If you agree on neighbor sharing, all the cans must be shared. It is not possible to share just some of the cans. You will receive a discount of 15% of a normal subscription for neighbor sharing. Neighborhood sharing can be ordered digitally via our website or by contacting our customer center. Read more about collaboration on waste equipment and neighbor sharing.

home Composting

If you want to start with home composting, you can sign up for one of our digital courses. A course lasts for approx. one hour. The courses are advertised on ReMidt their websites and on Facebook.

How often are the different cans emptied?
  • Food waste in its own bin is emptied every 2 weeks
  • Residual waste in a separate bin is emptied every 4 weeks
  • Cardboard and paper in a separate can are emptied every 4 weeks
  • Glass and metal packaging in a separate can is emptied every 6 weeks
  • Plastic packaging in a separate bag is picked up every 6 weeks

Residual waste is now emptied every 4 weeks, which means that you may have to sort even more of the residual waste to fit in the bin. If you have nappies, or pets or do an activity that creates a lot of residual waste, you may need to increase the size of the subscription for a period of time. If, on the other hand, you have little residual waste, you can go down one size. It is the size of your residual waste bin that determines your waste disposal fee.

Food waste must be sorted into separate bags that you will receive from ReMidt. If you need more bags eventually, tie one bag on the food waste bin and the renovator will leave a roll. The bags are then placed in the can marked food waste. In the bag you can put all leftover food, peel, paper towels and other things that are organically degradable. The food waste is used for the production of biogas. The residual product is used for soil improvement / fertilizer. Read more about food waste.
The can of food waste will be emptied every two weeks.

Glass and metal packaging should be placed loosely in the can, it is important that it is not placed in bags. In the can you can put all of the glass and metal packaging from food and drink. The important key word here is packaging, so glass and metal that is not packaging must, as before, be delivered to the recycling station.
The can with glass and metal packaging is emptied every 6 weeks. Read more about glass and metal packaging.
